The Labor Lodge Coalition 

(Labor Lodge) and our noble cause; 

providing affordable housing for an essential workforce. 

At Labor Lodge, we firmly believe that having a safe and stable place to call home is a fundamental human right. In some of our most beloved vacation spots, particularly where a level of service is deemed essential, those critical employees are running out of viable options. The hard-working people keeping the spirit of the vacation alive need our help. Today, I invite you to join our mission in creating real-world solutions for this alarming concern.

The Affordable Housing Crisis in Vacation Towns: 

Behind the scenes of seemingly epic vacations globally, countless families held up by jobs catering to the needs of tourists struggle to find affordable housing. As local housing prices increase disproportionately as a result of increased demand, the working-class’s wages do not increase accordingly. In Lake Tahoe, as of late, the situation has reached a crisis-level. The lack of affordable housing not only affects individuals trying to carve out a living here-working essential jobs, but also has a dramatic ripple effect on tourism and the entire vacation experience, 

hindering vacations and 

well-being of Tahoe for generations to come.

Our Vision: 

At Labor Lodge, we envision a future where every person has access to safe, affordable, and sustainable housing. 

Our coalition, made up of local community partners, are committed to one common goal. We seek to empower individuals and families to break free from the cycle of poverty and create the lifestyles of which they deserve. Our socioeconomic venture enables this under-served population to focus on education, career development, and overall well-being, while still carrying one of the most pivotal roles of all; supporting the Tourism Industry. 

We aim to transform lives and build stronger, 

more resilient communities. 

How We Make a Difference:

• Affordable Homes: After seeking out and acquiring viable housing options suiting our models, our team then evaluates necessary criteria, qualifies potential candidates and astutely redistributes a variety of lodging options directly back to the critical labor force sustaining the economy.
• Financial Assistance Programs: In partnership with local agencies, we provide financial support to eligible families, helping them with down payments, rental assistance, and home repair costs, ensuring they can afford stable housing.
• Community Development Initiatives: We believe in fostering inclusive and thriving communities. Our projects include community centers, parks, and educational programs that promote social cohesion and personal growth.
• Advocacy and Awareness: We work tirelessly to raise awareness about the importance of affordable housing in these communities and will always advocate for policy changes to address the housing crisis at its core.
